This is just a short write up of what has happened thus far.
Act I - There are many actors.
On a boat to Northrend, a strange trader approached them. He was strangely interested in obtaining a bit of elf blood. Some of Sarama's hair was stolen at the end of the journey.
After arriving in Borean Tundra the elves learned that a large group of what apparently was Stormwind commoners had left for some ruins to the northwest. The commanders of the keep had thought this an obvious act of the cult of the dammed and closed the gates. The elves convinced them that they should be allowed to chase the cultists, and set chase immediately.
The cultists had already moved on when they arrived to the ruins. At the ruins they found several stray elementals and pile of bodies ritually sacrificed, however, there was no sign of necromancy.
Afraid that the commander of valiance keep would not trust them to not be cultists themselves only Mehtomiel returned to the keep to give them the news. The rest of the elves stayed at a nearby druid encampment. The druids themselves asked Sarama, what had happened to two of their sisters who had travelled with them. This oddity had to be investigated.
Following the trails, they found a bloodied pond. In it, there was a half cat, and some foot prints leading in and out of the an old scourge stronghold.
Yet the scourge was gone, with the Lich King slain the scourge had reverted to mindless corpses. Still the place was vast and there was nothing to be found.
While resting at the sentinel base in Northrend some of the elves went to investigate a nearby ruin. While there were spectres about, it was clear that it was a settlement that had been destroyed during the sundering.
Scouting revealed that the "commoners" had been headed to the Wyrmrest temple. When approaching the temple what was happening became clear. The cultists were the twilights hammer and they were attacking the aspects along with legions of faceless and the twilight dragon flight. This was not their fight.
Upon retreating from the battle at Wyrmrest our elves stumbled upon a second severely wounded Sarama. After tending the wounds, Kiva dispelled the illusion. It was the trader first encountered on the boat to Northrend. Upon questioning he told that he was a SI:7 agent, and he had been following them, thinking they were part of the twilight hammer. Yet they were not, so his attempt at infiltrating them failed horribly.
Still not trusting the agent they journeyed towards Dalaran, to turn him in there. Yet it turns out that he was unwilling to end up in Dalaran, repeatedly trying to escape while going there.
Their agent was some form of mage and as they journeyed through crystal song forest they came to travel some ancient roads. Their agent noted, that the roads were following the leylines. Which, was odd, as the leylines were reorganized during the sundering(War of the Ancients).
Back on the original task, our elves uncovered a set of ruins in the forest. Together the agent they found an derelict portal leading straight into the southern seas, the portal set in with the leylines and the maelstorm.
Instead of sending the agent to Dalaran, he was set free with Mehtomiels bird keeping close watch as to where he was going.
