All ranks are subject to a 1 month activity rule. Chars that haven't turned up at a guild event in for a month can be demoted or booted from the guild at the officers' discretion. Logging in and out or talking on OOC chat doesn't count - though if you at least say hi regularly, you're more likely to be just demoted, not booted.
This is because there's little point in a RP guild having members who don't RP with the rest. If you do have to be gone a longer time, give notice and say when you'll be back, so we know not to kick you.
RANKS:
Initiate -- All new recruits start at this rank, and will remain at it for a minimum of two weeks. This is the "getting to know you" rank, to make sure we all get along. It's also the rank you slide back to, if you turn inactive for a long time. IC, the formal title is "Initiate of the (Cenarion) Guardians", or Guardian Initiate.
The Second rank is split up into three trees; Warden, Lorekeeper and Scout. ---The second rank promotion comes after you've done your first IC mission with the Guardians (participate in an event, or organise one if you're impatient), and given the <Scout's> oath. <Scouts> are expected to turn up at meetings and take IC missions as required. <Scouts> also have guild bank privileges, if there's something in the guild bank you can use, ask the officers. IC, the formal title is "<Scout> of the (Cenarion) Guardians", or Guardian <Scout>. <*exchange for others as appropriate>
Guardian -- Elite officer rank, requires lvl 85 and completing the IC Guardian trials, which test the character for the skills and attitude a Guardian needs. The trials are secret, and though a Scout may request right to begin them, it's more common for the High Guardian to suggest is when she feels the Scout is ready. IC the formal title is "Cenarion Guardian", or simply Guardian.
High Guardian -- IC leader of the Cenarion Guardians, also the guildmaster. The final authority in all things Guardian - to date, Dannelor is the first Druid to hold the title in a long line of old soldiers.
Some members may have other ranks in their member note, for RP purposes - Mehtomiel, for example, was a Sergeant before her time as High Guardian. Others have nicknames. If you want a particular nickname, you can request it.
OOC ranks:
Officer -- an OOC rank, for guild management purposes. Currently they're all alts of Dannelor.
Quartermaster -- to keep the guild bank semi-organised.
There are also some spare, unnamed ranks currently held in reserve for future use - possibly a Veteran rank, an OOC Storyteller rank, or other distinctions. We'll burn that bridge when we need it.
