* The character you wish to join on:
Shundal: night elf, druid, level 100, main character.
* Character's public RP profile:
Born to a scholar and a baker in the outskirts of Suramar before the Sundering, Shundal spent most of his childhood and adolescence under the tutelage of his father, learning to read and write runes. Having always been captured by the beauty and awe of nature, Shundal would spend his nights writing poetry and limericks about the bountiful wonders of nature.
After the fall of Azshara, Shundal heeded the call and need for his people and joined the first new wave of druids. With the guidance of Cenarius and Malfurion, he sealed his oath with the Aspects and swore to protect the newly formed Well of Eternity. After millennia of slumber beneath Nordrassil, Shundal finally awoke with the rest of his brothers to fight in the Third War.
Shundal is very old, and even more old-fashioned. Having never left Kalimdor for more than a few moons, he never grew accustomed to the swarm of new races and faces he has encountered since the formation of the Alliance. He was previously affiliated with the Cenarion Circle, but has since grown disgruntled with them, especially with the new addition of the trolls and has since dissociated himself with the order.
Nevertheless, despite Shundal's quite conservative attitudes, he is still quirky and very friendly at heart, and enjoy poetry, music, and stargazing - as all night elves should!
* Role-playing experience
I've been roleplaying night elves since WC3 essentially - always been a diehard fan. This year will mark my tenth year role-playing on WoW, but most of my time was spent on Defias Brotherhood and so I've only recently come to Argent Dawn. Over there, I was part of the Winterblades for many years and after its dissolution, I joined (The Order of) Nature's Grasp.
* Reasons for joining TCG
I'm new to Argent Dawn so looking for a place to call home. A random encounter with a few of your members in Ashenvale lead me to do some Googling and forum stalking, and I found myself here. A read through this guild's description got me really interested in applying as it sounds like the perfect place for Shundal.
* Likes and dislikes in role-playing
Most of all, I enjoy interpersonal relationships the most. Sitting around a fire and getting to know somebody's character is one of my favourite things. But I also enjoy a good ol' fashioned DM-style event like the rest of us! Excitement and drama, and some conflict, is always good.
I try to make the most out of all the role-playing I encounter and enjoy it irrespectively; however, one of my pet peeves is over-the-topness and superfluous and cringe-worthy emotes that are a bit self-indulgent.
* Usually playing times
Evenings and weekends; but not very active as I'm quite busy but will try and make it to any scheduled events. (Side-note: I'm going on vacation for about 10 days in the beginning of July so won't be active then).
* Why does your character want to be a Guardian?
"Ever since I've left the Cenarion Circle, I've lived my life a hermit. I encountered a few of your members recently, and I don't think I've ever heard of your group before, or perhaps I've forgotten. A little investigation lead me to learn a lot about your group, and it appealed to me greatly. I've grown ever disgruntled with the Circle and I yearn for the times of old, but then again, I'm just an old, nostalgic fool!
Nevertheless, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see old enemies roaming the glades as "allies" now. I trust our tusked friends very little, and I never really liked the hooved ones either for that matter! I wish to end my hermit ways for now, and rejoin my brothers and sisters and protect Kalimdor from any threat, either within the Alliance or without."
* Answer as your character
An old, slender figure sits down and leans upon the trunk of a large tree inside a sheltered grove. His face is lined deep with wrinkles, his hair an disheveled and unkempt mass of dirty, green hair. Between the plumage of the trees, a star glistens here and then as the moon's pallid beams stream down to illuminate the small thicket of trees.
He peers up at the star-strewn sky, ponders for a moment, and returns to the piece of parchment stretched across his lap. An old and broken quill makes faint, little scratching noises across the parchment, breaking the deep silence of the night:
"In the morning, your light was spent,
A fleeting glow, it came and went;
Our flesh burned in the sun’s relentless rays
And our spirits fell in a searing daze.
We wept as you departed the night sky,
Our hearts cried blood when you passed us by;
Morning, midday, and afternoon
Were all miserable without you!
But then dusk came, and your light returned
As you then day and night turned;
Our aching wounds felt your motherly relief
And you lifted from our hearts a lonely grief.
O Ancient of Nights, o Mother Moon,
O Night Warrior, o majestic Elune:
You come and go like the waves,
But always return with your starry rays.
So give thanks to our Mother,
She whose love is like no other,
She who chased away the sun
And with us became whole and one."
