We're picky about members - take this as a challenge, not an insult. The better our roleplay and gameplay preferences go together, the easier it'll be for us to have fun RP and random gamestuff.
A few rules:
* No deathknights or warlocks, mages only with heavy prejudice. We're fanatics, we think fighting fire with fire only makes a worse fire. We might temporarily tolerate with dk's or locks if we must, but they will never be invited to join.
* Heavy Kaldorei bias, but other races (with good reason) will be accepted.
* Your character must be an adult combat veteran, and care about this nature fanatic thing. Exceptions will have a hard time joining.
* Minimum player age 16 - this is assumed, meaning we wont ask you. If you -do- have to be asked, it means you're doing something wrong.
1) Read all the sticky posts in the Info section, so you know what you're signing up for. Reading the Guide to Night Elf Roleplay also helps.
2) Register on the forum. Make a new thread in the Recruitment section and post the following (copy+paste the list and answer all):
* The character you wish to join on: name, race, class, level, is it a main or alt character
* Your character's public RP profile
* Your RP experience (none, old tabletop/larp player, veteran of another guild - a few words is enough)
* Why you want to join the Guardians?
* When do you usually play?
* What makes RP fun for you?
* What makes RP NOT fun for you?
* Answer as your character - write a brief piece, like you would an emote, of your character doing something common to them. A daily routine, a little personal ritual, something of that sort.
* Answer as your character - Why do you want to join the Guardians? ('To defend the Balance,' is a given, why did they chose to do it with the Guardians rather than anybody else?)
3) PM any contentious things about your character - secrets, skeletons in the closet - to Dannelor. (This is a routine check for lorelols, we'll consider it completely OOC information - this is mostly to screen for things like demonic possession/mind control/redeemed flame druids. We don't like those.)
4) We'll contact you asap to arrange an interview or some other form of test RP. Alternately, you can just turn up at a guild meeting (you can do that before posting an application too, but we'll still ask you for one). We'll probably want to get to know your character a bit before actually inviting to the guild - be patient. We want members who'll be around, not the sort who log on once and then just hang about as absent names in the roster. Showing up more than once shows you won't vanish on us.
5) If the test RP works out, the character is invited to give the Initiate's oath. This is when we invite to the guild.
Approved initiates are promoted to Scout/Warden/Lorekeeper, once they have completed an IC assignment with the guild, and given the Scout's oath. Scouts are promoted to Guardian once they reach level 85, pass the IC Guardian trials, and give the Guardian's oath.
