Name: Mehtomiel
Race and Class: Night Elf Hunter
Physical description: Even withered as she is by a wasting disease, Mehtomiel still has the disciplined stance and weathered look of an old Sentinel. She has numerous scars both old and new, though only a few will be visible. Her clothes and armor are well-cared for, though her armor especially tends to have such scratches and dents as will come about in hard use.
Background: Mehtomiel has admitted to being more than 5000 years old, but hasn't given an exact number. It seems most of this time has been in service of the Sentinels. She fought in the battle of the Shifting Sands and later at Mount Hyjal, and was wounded at both. Slow recovery frustrated her, and she called herself useless on more than one occasion.
She has the manner of an old sergeant, and it's easy to find from the old records that this is what she served as for the majority of her time in the Sentinels. She has refused promotions and usually managed to stay at her chosen rank. After Cenarion Circle returned their support to the Guardians on the condition that a new High Guardian take Sarama's place, Mehtomiel grudginly took the task, as the other possible choice was a priestess and thus unsuitable. Later on an illness forced her to step aside and leave Guardians in the hands of Dannelor Thornroot.
Like any old soldier, she uses every break to see to her equipment, to eat or to sleep.
Personal notes: See Old Soldier and Sergeant Rock.
Bird: Mehtomiel hunts with a large raven, simply called Bird. Despite Mehtomiel's insistence that it is "just a bird", Bird has shown to be capable of carrying simple messages and find Mehtomiel should they get separated. Bird also has a crude sense of humour, and apparently prefers the color blue when searching for suitable targets. Bird is supposedly female, though not many get close enough to check this.

- Mehtomiel doesn't trust the younger races, and would prefer a "need-to-know" policy when dealing with them - with the understanding that mostly, they don't need to know. Other than that she can find a use for them, although to her they often seem eager but easily distracted.
- She absolutely hates demons and distrusts mages.
- Even though she is socially more of a traditionalist, she is curious about new technology. As noisy and unreliable as some of the dwarven inventions are, she has nevertheless found a use for some of them, switching between rifles and bows as the situation demands.
- She always carries a waterskin filled with water from a Moonwell, treating it as some sort of cure-all. She has on occasion been seen blessing her weapons with the water before battle.
- Though she has not had any children of her own, Mehtomiel has helped raise a few. One of these children is Talathiel, the daughter of a friend, who later joined the Sentinels herself.
